March Birchbox Review.....a tad late!!! sorry

My March Birchbox review I hope you guys enjoy!!!!!!!!!

This months theme is ROLE MODELS. I had a quick peak in the magazine and there are some good articles in there!

From the lil card they give you can tell most of the products are skin care! Apart from my favourite product in this box and a perfume!

Here is a sneak peak inside. As you can see it looks jam packed in the cute and handy statement pink bag!

I have laid the products out so they are easier to see.

The First product I pulled out the box was the perfume sample by Molton Brown called Valbonne, it states it has notes of bergamot, dewy orange flower, rose, vetiver and leather. Unfortunately this fragrance gave me a headache (as you guys know from a few posts ago most fragrances do!),  I did try it on a few times and it does smell nice and lasts a long time and has a sweet earthy smell. I would wear this product if I could!

The next thing is a supposed miracle moisturiser from Japan. When it comes out of the tube it is a thick yellowy colour and smells like vics vapor rub! The description says its a herb(?) called camphor and the scent disappears after a minute of application and it does disappear but it is a REALLY strong smell at first however it doesn't feel oily whilst applying, it soaks straight in and really does make your skin feel so soft so I can understand why it has been a bestseller in Japan since 1957.

This body lotion has Argan Oil in and has a pleasant sweet floral smell. The product comes out the bottle what I think is slightly watery but still thick lotion and a little goes a long way. I don't think I would buy this product, there isn't a thing I can say wrong about it I just think there are better body lotions out there that are way cheaper and do the same thing as this product.
I have to admit I haven't tried this product. As soon as I opened it it smelt so strongly of a scent I called old lady that I put it back into my Birchbox and forgot about it. The smell is actually rose and it is a cleansing balm that removes make-up. This will be given to someone else to use.

This is my favourite product of all!!
This is a gel eyeliner by Laura Geller and I have to say I love it.

It comes with its own eyeliner brush that you just pull out the lid. The brush is so precise it can get the finest line or the thickest depending on what look you are going for!
The card says it is water proof and I'm happy to say it is! It doesn't run in the rain and I love it, it makes your eyes pop and the brush helps you get into the most awkward places like in the corners or your eyes. It has great staying power even without primer and is great for all skin types!
The full size is £24.50 I don't know if the product Birchbox sent me is full size or not but this Gel eyeliner is going to last me a while but when I run out I may just buy some more!!!

Finally it is the two extras I received in the box

Lindt's Lindor chocolate truffles....well what can I say?! Thea come in a cute little tin and you get four in....me and my little sister consumed this within twenty minutes. I shall be keeping the tin for candles that don't have pots/glasses.
Thanks Birchbox!!!

The second extra I received is a Sanctuary facial mask.
I have received one of these before off Glossybox so my sister pinched this sample. You put the silver packet on first then the white and it creates a warming facial clay mask.

All in all I am pleased with this months Birchbox and I am already excited to get the next!

Keep your eyes peeled for my reviews on the lovely products that QVS and Anatomicals sent me to try and review!

Helen-e Product review

      Hey GUYS!!!!!!!!
Soooo its's been a few days since my order from Helen-e.com came so I thought I'd post my thoughts on them today!!!!

(sorry about the photo quality I took it via webcam on my old laptop (getting a new one on sunday so yay!))

So before I start my review I have to say the beauty Gods must'a been shining down on me!!!! (Explanation on that statement in just a tick!)

I have to be honest the whole reason I ordered some products is because I received a email off Glossybox saying if I ordered anything off Helen-e and I entered a code I could receive a free eyeliner with a smudger. So being a sucker for free stuff off I went and ordered some lipstick like a nice little Glossybox minion and I have to say it was the best decision of my life.
When you first log into the website, if you are new user the website ask you the usual 'create an account' details but afterwards when you are signed up it asks you a few more questions such as skin tone, type and hair colour, eye colour (just like Glossybox and Birchbox) and afterwards gives you suggestions on which make up, whether it be foundation, eyeshadow or eyeliner, is best suited to your skin/eye/hair colour. And I have to say I think this is a fantastic idea!!!!

Now in my list of options were some lipsticks and with my lipstick collection being quite minimal and only seem to consist of one colour (red/reddy orange), I decided to go for a totally different colour of lipstick and go for a nice pink in the shade marshmallow, which I have to say is a totalllyy cute name for a lipstick shade.

When it arrived I was expecting a small box or a cardboard envelope, what it actually came in was a brown envelope, inside the products where in a bubble wrap envelope/bag protecting the products.

Also inside was a little leaflet full of useful tips and advice on how to apply certain products by Helen-e which I think is a great idea and really helpful as well.

I tried the lipstick on immediately and loved the colour, feel, texture and look. When I put it on it felt light on my lips and after a while I totally forgot I had it on, hardly any drag and the colour was so vibrant, (I think my sister described it as ''barbie'' pink but I wouldn't) and it help contrast with my hair which is a dark colour with purple overtone.
This brings me round to the earlier statement about beauty gods.
As you saw in my previous post in my Glossybox I received a lovely lip blush by Jelly pong pong and that as well is a lovely shade of pink. Well it just so happens  that shade is also called marshmallow and it goes perfectly under my Helen-e lipstick to give it some more omf! The stars defiantly aligned up somewhere in the universe for that to happen. So now I use the lovely lip blush under this lipstick and it gives me a really vibrant pink with hardly any dragging, highly pigmented and totally moisturising with great staying power!!!

(Lipstick on top, eyeliner on bottom)

Now this brings me to the eyeliner.
I have to say when it comes to eyeliner my favourite is Barry M, most of my nail varnishes, eyeliner, loose pigment eyeshadow is Barry M, so I am always comparing.
I had trouble ordering this product, I didn't want to go with a usual black so I decided to pick a shade that the website said would go with my complexion and in the drop down menu picked Platinum, I doubled checked the order and pressed check out. What I received however was black eyeliner, I immediately messaged customer service in which a reply came pretty quick and read that I had not specified a colour so they sent me black as it is the most popular colour in the eyeliner, however if I wished to return it and pay ANOTHER £2.50 for postage I could have the product I ordered, I denied the offer seeing as I had already payed £2.50 for postage I was not paying more so kept it.
BIG LESSON THERE. TRIPLE CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE PAYING!!!!!
I have used it a few times hence the tip condition!!!
Smudger, smudger, smudger.

So once I got round the disappointment of not being able to Platinum me eyes up I got to applying the eyeliner. I have to say I do love it and it may be replacing my handy dandy Barry M black eyeliner (good job too as it getting down to a nub at this point!). The liner goes on smoothly and is highly pigmented, it rivals that of Barry M's Bold Black waterproof eyeliner, it feels light, glides on smooth and looks so dramatic. This may be down to the eyeliner being made with cocoa butter and shea butter.
This pencil comes with a smudger which I have not used yet mostly because I have not done any make up in which I need to smudge my liner for a smokey effect.
The only bad thing I found is that it smudges very easily for me, however I find most eyeliners do for me unless I use primer, this is probably because I have combo skin and get more oily if I am stressed or worried and I am both at the moment.

Here is some pictures of me wearing the eyeliner and lipstick!!!!

All in all I am please with these products and will definatly be buying more Helen-e products.

Check out my next blog coming hopefully tomorrow on my March Birchbox!!!!

Glossybox Review -March box

As I mentioned on Saturday my March Glossybox arrived so I thought I would do my review on it now.

I'm really excited to get this box as I love nail art and have been wanting some nails inc nail varnish for a very long time.

The first item I noticed was of course the nails inc varnish in St james which is a lovely red colour.

As you can see I COULD NOT wait to see what it was like so swatched it straight away (using sally hanson hard as nails as a base coat), I only put one coat on and it is very bright and very pigmented. Just a shame it is not a full size product :(

The second product I noticed in my box is the jelly pong pong lip blush and have to say I am loving this product! The name is so cute and the colour is a lovely pink shade.

It goes on a lovely, and feels soft on my lips. I will definitely be using this a lot! It comes in a cute little chubby stick and when you need more of the product you just simply twist the silver end and BAM more product. It is very light and when the product is on your lips the colour is very light which is perfect for when your just wanting your lips to look flushed, if you want more of a intense colour just build up the colour (I've heard 3 is the magic number when using lip stains/blushes to the perfect pow colour).

In this box I also received a perfume sample by Juicy Couture called La La.
I tried this on straight away and have to say  perfume is not for me.
It has a nice floral/sweet smell but unfortunately it is far too overpowering for me as I get headaches easily from some smells. I much prefer a vanilla/candy smell (my favourite being Black XS). I can see why people would like this perfume as it I can see  people wearing it in summer.

The next thing I received was a really small sample of a Elizabeth Arden moisturiser.
This is apparently wonder cream that has multiple uses from moisturising your eyebrows after shaping them too revitalizing your hands in the cold weather.
I don't know whether I'll be using this yet as I have many other moisturisers that I use  a regular basis. This sample is quite small but that is understandable seeing as the full size is around the £50 mark!

And finally the last thing I received is some TRESemmé Hair spray. I have to say I was not as excited to receive this product as I am not a fan of hairspray as I find some leave your hair sticky and disgusting. However I am willing to give this a go as I have heard really good things about this product.

Glossybox also sent a little extra to tie in with this months theme. Its a little black book of places to visit in different countries, from bars to shopping, London to Germany. I thought it was a cute touch especially with the stickers in the middle of the book.

All in all I am really pleased with this months Glossybox and cannot wait to get to next months!!!

Head over to my friends blog at www.xobeautybypaulaxo.blogspot.com to see what  she thought of her Glossybox.

Come back soon as my www.helen-e.com products have arrived so of course a review is too come!!!

Review on venus razor with Olay strips and Olay complete care moisturiser

I got these sent to me from www.supersavvyme.co.uk to try out for three months, I've now been testing them for around a month now and have nothing but positive thoughts about them.
The razor is fantastic, it is a five blades so shaves really close to your legs and the two moisturising strips (loaded with Olay moisturiser)  leave your legs really smooth!!!

The facial moisturiser is wonderful too. It feels so light when on the face and non greasy which is great for my combo skin!!!!! You also only need the smallest bit that is distributed via the pump bottle to do your whole face then another pump  your neck!

Definitely buying them both again when I need to!!!
Give them ago.

1950's ish look

I got bored so decided to test some of the make up out that I bought last week.
I used a MUA eyeshadow in shade 9 in pearl, that is the purple on my inner lid and the pink out of my beauty uk palette in 2. I have to say i love both eye shadows especially the purple MUA shadow. I will defiantly be buying more at £1 a pop in my local Superdrug. I also love the Beauty Uk palette too it has some nice colours and are very bright and is only £3.99 for 10 shades. I did not use a primer on my eyes as i am running very very low on it.
Both shadows had very little fallout and I did not need much when doing my eyes.
The liner i used is by L.A Colors and only cost a £1. It is not like a pen like my other liquid eyeliner which i love as my pen gets to dry too quick, this eyeliner is set out much like a mascara as in you dip it in the liquid. It has a very fine line and goes on smoothly and easily. Yet again a bargain for £1 from my local boyes store.

My lips are done using a lipliner also my L.A Colors and is in P506 Forever Red. This also was £1 from my local Boyes store. It is like a normal lip liner and goes on well with a really nice red. I shaped my lips then filled it in for better umf and coverage then went over it in a barry m lipstick in 121 (i bought this earlier from superdrug i think it is only £3-4.99) and i love this colour it is a very vibrant red and feels weightless on my lips with very little tackiness.

So that is what i thought on the products :)
If you have any questions just ask :)
